I had the privilege of being selected to help Native Instruments take over NeueHouse on Sunset Boulevard for a very special night. This Native Session event explored the art of film scoring and examining the intimate relationship between picture and sound we as film composers deal with everyday.
Native Instruments is one of the leading manufacturers of audio production software and hardware. Their sold-out events from Los Angeles to Berlin show what caliber of product they develop and I’m so glad I got to be able to share my experiences with them and everyone who came out to the event.
During the Native Sessions: Cinematic Soundscapes I spoke and presented how I approached and arranged a song for a film I scored, The Challenger. The song for the film was submitted to me very differently than how it appeared in the film. What I explained to the audience was how I stripped the song down to just its lyrics and arranged a theme from the movie around it.
I love being able to teach others how I deal with these situations in the film world. Being able to adapt and mesh different things together to give a cohesive product is so important!
Thank you Native Sessions – LA for having me!
